CREMATORY Begins Work On New Material

March 4, 2007

German gothic metallers CREMATORY have issued the following update:

"CREMATORY have started to write new songs in February and the new studio album with working title 'Gothic Metal' is set for a January 2008 release. Lyrics- and singing-wise the songs are supposed to have a darker vibe, although the separation between Felix and Matze with the dark and the cleaner vocals will be retained. The album will have English lyrics, but the appearance of a German track finding its way on the record is not impossible. Musically it will be a treat to the ears with the familiar catchy melodies, paired with massive guitar riffs, even more brutal and darker than in the past. With the keyboards the sound will be like in the earlier days and orchestral arrangements will be integrated. Moving away from the technoid samples and analogue sounds, going more in the direction of the early days with strings and choirs. Once again the record will be produced with Kristian 'Kohle' Kohlmannslehner in the Kohlekeller Studios in the Odenwald, who had already produced the records 'Revolution' and 'Klagebilder' with the band.

"Germany's leading gothic metal band is set out to raise the bar once more with the new studio album and show some of the wannabe gothic metal bands of today with vocals by whimpering women what it's really about and how good old school gothic metal is really supposed to sound.

"To shorten the long wait for the next studio album CREMATORY wants to treat the fans to something to commemorate the 15th band anniversary.

"For the summer a 'Greatest Hits' double CD with DVD package is planned, containing all the hits and videos, as well as rare bonus material. Also, a massive 'Album Collection' box is planned containing 11 CREMATORY CDs and two DVDs as a strictly limited edition for a special price. All studio records are set to be re-released at a special cheap price, so each CREMATORY fan can now easily complete their CREMATORY collection."

CREMATORY's latest effort, "Klagebilder" (Massacre Records),entered the German national chart at position No. 66. The LP was made available as a limited digipak, jewel-case CD and big-sized box set including a bonus CD.

CREMATORY's live DVD/CD package, entitled "Liverevolution", was released in the summer of 2005 via the group's own label, CRC. The package contained the show from 2004's Wave Gotik Treffen festival, three clips from the band's comeback CD, "Revolution", and loads of private and backstage behind-the-scenes material.
